AGM and Annual Dinner
Just to let you know about the plan for the AGM and the annual dinner. The AGM is the meeting where we will review what's gone on this year in the club, propose any changes for next year, and most importantly vote in the new committee. It will be in the Packhorse (of course) on Wednesday the 30th of April at 9 o'clock.
If you are wanting to stand for a committee position, all you need to do is stand up on the night, and give a short speech about why you want, and why you think you should, be on the committee. The positions are as follows:
President: Has overall responsibility for the running of the club, makes sure the committee are doing their stuff and deals with the emails etc.
Vice President: Helps the president in doing President stuff.
Secretary: Books huts, keeps things organised and deals with the admin/membership.
Treasurer: Deals with all the money. You need to be able to count...
Gear Sec: Looks after the club gear-dealing with the hire, making sure it's organised, deciding on new purchases and ensuring it's all in good condition. You should know about gear.
Transport sec: Books minibuses and arranges drivers for trips.
Social Sec(s): Plans social events and keeps everyone happy!
The annual dinner is a big final climbing/partying trips before we all have exams and go off for the summer. We are going on the bank holiday weekend (3rd, 4th, 5th of May) which is a week before the start of exams-get some revision in early and rearrange you deadlines, cos this is going to be the best trip you've ever been on. We are heading off on the friday night to the lovely Lakes, returning on the Monday night, so we get an extra day climbing in. More details will be circulated before we go, but basically the committee will be cooking a big meal, and a good time will be had by all. Expect good food, good tunes, good decoration and a few surprises. I'm so excited about the annual dinner I can hardly breathe.
