Lakes-Annual dinner

Money on wednesday please! For anyone who hasn't signed up, there's still a few places left.

The Homemade Mountain Movie Awards‏

This looks fun!

The Homemade Mountain Movie Awards are the the first mountainfilm awards for amateurs, and they've got the backing of the Kendal MountainFilm Festival, Trail magazine, Osprey Rucksacks and others.

They're looking for 3-minute clips taken in the mountains on digital cameras, camcorders or phones, and the emphasis is on fun and experimentation ratherthan professionalism. The grand prize is an all-expenses-paid trip to Everest Base Camp, and there's free accommodation and screenings at this year's Kendal Mountain Film Festival for shortlisted entrants.

Outdoor rep

Hope everyone's having a good easter,

I received this email from Geoff Banks,

Hi folks,

At the moment nobody is confirmed as standing for the position of ‘Representative for the Outdoor groups’ this coming year.

This means that you’ll have much less of a say at executive /council/grant application meetings. It will mean you have less support generally and opportunities could be missed.

If you could let your groups know that we are desperately seeking someone to fill this role – time is running out to fill this role as the training for this person is provided in the next couple of weeks.

If you want anymore information about or wish to apply for the role please speak to as soon as possible;

Vicky (current rep) eng4vcs@leeds.ac.uk

Or Andrew Greer Activities Exec a.d.greer@leeds.ac.uk

Regards

Geoff Banks

See you all soon,
Alys
