British Mountaineering Council (BMC)
The BMC works for climbers, mountaineers and hill walkers on a wide variety off issues affecting us in the UK, and abroad, including Access and Conservation, publishes some great guide books, provides insurance cover for climbing trips away, offers advice and generally represents us outdoorsy people as a collective to look out for our interests so we can continue doing what we all love best. There are many benefits of being a BMC member, and as being a member of LUUMC.. you get an additional discount. Have a browse around the website instead of facebook next time you procrastinating...
LUUMC is a BMC affiliated club and as such our members should recognise and act in accordance with the BMC participation statement:
"The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions."
