Socials

So you like a drink? No me neither, never touch the stuff... but supposing you did we hold some wicked socials...

Gatecrasher!

Our most important social is held every week upstairs in the Packhorse, on a Wednesday evening from 9pm. It's a great opportunity to meet people and arrange trips away with them, as well as the place to sign up for trips (watch the events page and the home page for how and when), borrow and return gear, find out who climbed what over the last week or just get pissed. For those of you who don't know where it is, it's just across the road from the Civil Engineering, next door to the slightly classier Eldon pub.

We hold two big ones every year, the first is the Christmas Celidh which involves dressing up (Which the boys get more enthusiastic about than the girls), live music from a local Celidh band, and "some" alcohol too. It's claimed quite a few has this little jamboree and the injury toll afterwards is often greater than all our climbing trips put together. It's a good laugh though with no obligation to drink if you don't want to and an awesome way to round up the long drawn out Christmas term!

Our other big social is the Annual Dinner, how this is run changes from year to year, it can either be a large simple meal at one of the huts or a full 3 course meal at a restaurant in Leeds. It's all down to the Committee and how they're feeling!

We also run an Otley run or two, with varying themes ranging from sci-fi to "roped together". Either way it turns out to be carnage by the end of the night!

On a final note we do offer something for the non alcholics among you. From Ice skating in Millennium square to Paintballing, we try and cater for everyone's drinking habits (although some people's drinking habits would bankrupt the club if we tried to satisfy them... :-p )
